THE ARCTIC STORM

DATE

OCTOBER 2017

FOREVER FASCINATED BY THE POWER OF NATURE, MY DREAM OF VISITING ICELAND CAME TRUE IN OCTOBER 2017. I WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED BY THE INCREDIBLE BEAUTY, DIVERSITY AND VASTNESS OF THE LANDSCAPE AND IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE COUNTRY. WORDS CANNOT DO JUSTICE TO ITS BEAUTY, ONLY IMAGES PROVIDE THE POSSIBILITY TO CAPTURE ITS SPLENDOUR. COINCIDENCE OR DESTINY, THE SKY DARKENED AND THE WIND STRENGTHENED. THE INTENSITY OF THE ARCTIC STORM AND THE FEELINGS IT EVOKED WILL REMAIN FOREVER IN MY MEMORY. THE RAW POWER AND FEROCITY A REFLECTION OF NATURE'S STRENGTH AND GREATNESS, AND I FELT HUMBLED BEFORE IT.

”WHITE CRESTED WAVES CRASH ON THE SHORE. THE MASTS SWAY VIOLENTLY, EVERY WHICH WAY. IN THE GRAY SKY THE GULLS ARE CIRCLING LIKE WHITE FLAKES. RAIN SQUALLS BLOW PAST LIKE GRAY SLANTING SAILS, AND BLUE GAPS OPEN IN THE SKY. THE AIR BRIGHTENS. A COLD SILVERY EVENING. THE MOON IS OVERHEAD, AND DOWN BELOW, IN THE WATER; AND ALL AROUND IT A WIDE FRAME OF OLD, HAMMERED, SCALY SILVER.”
